Description:

Did you ever want to be an astronaut or take a ride in the space shuttle? Here’s your chance.

Published on the same day as the actual, historic launch of four women in space on April 4, 2010, this novel follows Christina Matthews on her destiny to become NASA’s youngest Astronaut Commander. Michael Jacobs, a bright young colleague, helps Christina unravel a terrorist attack and fight a nuclear battle in orbit. She is pitted between a NASA conspiracy and a terrorist plot to bring the world’s greatest power to her knees. As Christina hopes to be the first astronaut on Mars, her dreams are interrupted by family tragedy and a war with Iranian terrorists. Will space shuttle disaster, torture and mental calamity rein back the dreams of the best female pilot who ever lived? Or will true love conquer all?

An action-packed thriller loaded with suspense, this story depicts real life scenes of death-defying bravery in the cockpit and exposes the untold traumas of space travel.

If you like flying. If you like mysteries. If you like cold revenge as *you* would want to get even; no holding back, then grab REVENGE I.
A fresh new plot, with live characters that keep you wanting more.
I read it, and loaned it to my wife. We both loved it. Then I told a friend of mine who has a Barnes and Noble NOOK (wife and I have 2 KINDLES) and he got a NOOK copy and wanted more.
So I now have REVENGE II, It's even better!

5Great Story, Fast Paced! (Kindle version)Jan 30, 2012
By Johnny Collins "JC"
"Test Pilot's Daughter II: Dead Reckoning" is simply an outstanding read...don't pick it up if you need a good night's sleep! This book has it all from 2 1/2 shuttle flights to terrorists, to torture, to a near-space battle with missiles launched from the northern reaches of Russia (our drones get the missiles fired from Iran followed by a mop-up courtesy of a B-2 bomber). What is there not to like! The author keeps the story moving and makes everything believable. It's very easy to cheer for his main character, Christina, who invented the DROID system that saves the day. The ending will blow you away! I'm looking forward to (hopefully) the third book in the series!

4Unique twist to space adventureMay 26, 2010

Dead Reckoning is dead on for space war adventure and romance. Two super smart NASA nerds find romance in a battle of wits with Iranian terrorists who plan to drop nukes on major US cities. Who is conspiring with the bad guys? Is it the President, the Director of NASA or rogue generals in the US military? This techno thriller weaves a complex web of suspense with space shuttle operations in the backdrop

4Wrong orderAug 30, 2010

I bought this one and the first one at the same time and then mixed them up and read this one first. It didn't bother me too much, though I think there were some references made that would have made more sense if I'd read the first one, well, first. :) I loved the plot of the book and the various conspiracies set forth. I don't know anything about flying, so Mr. Ward could have made all the technical stuff up. If that's the case then he's a wonderful BSer, but my guess is he really knows his facts about planes and shuttles. The only constructive criticism I have to offer is some of the dialogue didn't seem to flow right for me. Now back to read book one!
