Great, succint resourceJul 04, 2011

I got this guidebook to help plan an upcoming trip to Paris with my family. It's been a valuable resource in helping us select what sights to visit, and the handy pull-out map (which includes sights, metro & train stations, etc.) will definitely be useful while traveling. The book's small size makes it packable, and the numerous color photos and descriptions have helped us plan our itinerary. The author includes lots of inside tips, such as how to buy a museum pass that allows you to bypass long ticket lines and what days certain museums are closed. The resource section on hotels and restaurants isn't quite as useful, mainly because there are too many options to list--I've found the Internet to be a better resource for finding accomodations. All in all, though, this book is a fantastic resource. I now know why many seasoned travelers urged me to buy the Rick Steves' guidebook!

The best thing about this book is that you can carry it around while exploring the city. Rick Steves gives good insight with helpful tips. I recommend this book for first-timers to Paris!

We are planning to visit Paris this year. This book describes many of the places we plan to see. I find it helpful to know something about the place before visiting. This book is just what I wanted.

We have the big Rick Steves book, but thought this might be a companion book that can be stuck in a purse and easy to review when we get to Paris.
