"Returning MCSE NT4"
I am an MCSE NT4 that has had a 4 1/2 year hiatus from IT work. My first read through an A+ book was in 1998 which was comparatively a bland textbook read. Myers has done a nice job with this book, even entertaining on occasion. I am quickly getting caught up on areas I missed. It is very unfortunate the CompTIA group can't seem to connect with Microsoft on their timing of OS releases. It would be nice to have Windows 7 addressed in this book.

I use the software that came with the book to test myself on what I've read. While doing so, I noticed that with some of the chapter test questions, the process being referenced doesn't show up until several chapters further into the book. For example, one of the Chapter 4 questions talks about the Windows 2000/XP boot process. This process isn't even discussed in the book until Chapter 14. This textbook has a lot of information, especially for a class given 9 days to absorb it..the software included does not need to confuse us..or have us frantically scanning the chapter we read wondering why we can't find the "referenced" answer. I can't say for sure how effective this textbook is at helping someone study for the Comptia A+ exams because I haven't taken mine yet.

I like how this book was written. It is not confusing and it's easy to understand. I really like that there is a website that goes to this book and you could also get additional help. I recommend for those people who are trying to get CompTIA A+ Certified.

I am an A+ instructor and this is by far the best book and instructor set of materials I have used. Mike Meyers is very knowlegeable as well as entertaining. He is passionate about IT and has done an outstanding job. It certainly would have been nice to have Windows 7 in on this round but it was not the fault of Mike Meyers or his publishers. Cant wait to see the next round.

I had worked in the IT industry for several years; however, I recently returned to college to get my degree. This book was used as a classroom text in one of the courses (across 2 terms) required for my degree.
The book is very well written. The author includes the necessary detail to insure a good understanding of the material. This book is an excellent read for anyone considering getting their CompTIA A+ certification. After completing this course, I took (and passed) both parts of the A+ exam.
I would have given 5 stars; however, I have a major issue with the fact that (like so many other publishers of Kindle material) the publisher did not include "Page Numbers" on the pages. Instead you get "Location" number which has no practical purpose. This makes it impossible to assist people that are using the physical books.
I encourage all Kindle owners to help send a message to all the publishers ... we demand pages numbers consistent with the printed material.
