A MasterpieceMar 29, 2006
By Joshua P. Warren As a professional radio host, I read a LOT of books, and am familiar with the latest efforts of the world's best authors. Though I've immensely enjoyed the Steigers' work for most of my life, this book is truly a masterpiece. Many books on conspiracies are burdensome to appreciate. You must absorb yourself in a complex network of heavy reading that can quickly become exhausting. When I received this 540-page book, I wondered if it would take 6 months to read. But after only one minute of thumbing through the work, I was hooked, and found myself turning page after page, losing myself in the material.
The sections are so digestible and "to the point" that you can learn an enormous amount of information from one page, stopping at any place with a sense of satisfaction. It's like reading short stories. I'm amazed by how they condensed so much information, sweeping comprehensively through all of history, while still keeping one's attention span. I'll never loan out this book because I know I'll never see it again!
If you could only own one book on conspiracies, this is it. It's the culmination of meticulous, balanced research, seasoned storytelling, and a sense for the reader's needs, earned over decades by the Steigers' submersion in this field. Whenever I need information on conspiracies, whether personally or for show preparation, this is the book I will grab from the shelf. The Steigers know what their readers want. Trust me, if you're interested in this subject, buy this book.

One of the most fun books you'll ever pick up!Feb 25, 2006

"Wolfman"
* You are only paranoid if they aren't out to get you.*
-Anonomous
Brad and Sherry have hit one out of the ball park with this one! This book is so devilishly fun to flip through, it's hard to put down (since receiving it Wednesday, I've spent the past few days with little sleep).
No matter if you are a serious researcher or just like conspiracies for the fun of it, this book is an essential for your collection. It does not matter on which side of the political fence you reside; this book goes directly down the center of the fence, displaying both democratic and republican based conspiracies. This book portrays each entry in an entirely fair matter, basing each entry on the given facts, and never without injected personal commentary favorable to either side. Listings include the Aids virus, Men in Black, a plethera of secret societies, alien abductions, the Bush family connections, the Clinton administration's body count, Iran / Contra, the Thule Society, Freemasonry, Waco, The Oklahoma City bombings, Osama Bin Ladin, FBI, CIA, the face on Mars, Moon bases, Alternitive 3, Military experaments, researchers who have died of mysterious cercomstances, Hanger 18, Neo-Nazies, the KKK,HAARP, just to cover a pitifull few. More information than a sane "sheeple" would ever want to know!
The only thing you might find negitive is that Brad began with an index of over 350 entries, however, due to time constraints, had to narrow down to the current 250 or so entries...which is enough to keep you buisy for more hours than you may care to spend (but fun hours at that). You will find most of the biggest conspiracy theories of not only this century, but throughout written history. If you are an expert, you may find a favorite or two left out.
Personally, there are a few conspiracies I take seriously, the rest of this topic I love just for the reason of getting a grasp of our nation's overall psycology at any given time. The majority of the boom began in the late '50's and early '60; Presidential assasinations, political scandles etc. lead to the nation's general mistrust of the government, and since then, the number of conspiracies have boomed. There is a good amount of truth in every listing, but what you may appreciate the most is that Brad and Sherry's writing style of this encyclopedia leaves it up entirely to the reader weather or not you wish to believe in any given entry. Each entry also lists a biblyography and resources, so any topic in which you become interested, you have a basis to begin further reading / research. Some of the darker entries even list the supposed body counts by name and circumstance of death.
No matter weather you are a believer or just like this topic for fun, I guarentee this is going to be one of the most fun reads you are going to have for some time. Just don't be surprised if you come out of this a bit more paranoid than you went in, but then again, "they" really may be out to get you!

Mind-Boggling Conspiracies I Extremely Readable Presentation!Mar 18, 2006
By Dr.Franklin Ruehl The Mothman Death List! The Thule Society! President
Eisenhower's secret meeting with ETs! Noah's Ark! The
Salem Witchcraft Trials!
These are just a few of the intriguing subjects
covered in Brad and Sherry Steiger's comprehensive new
tome, "Consipracies and Secret Societies." This is a
veritable treasure trove of fascinating material
covering topics from the ancient to the modern era,
even such contemporary issues as the West Nile virus
and Hurricane Katrina.
Each absorbing entry is enveloped in such a depth
of research that I have learned new facts on subjects
that I thought I was an expert on!
With its encyclopedic style, you can open it open
anywhere and become imemdiately engrossed in the topic
at hand. It has my highest commendation to anyone who
has even just a fleeting interest in conspiracies.
Truly, the Steigers have produced another winner!

GRAB THIS BOOK NOW! ITS THE BEST DEAL YET!Feb 25, 2006
By Patricia C. Ress As a journalist-author-researcher. I have had occasion to research 'conspiracy theories' to a great extent over the past two decades. Some information has been good, but some is unsubstantiated speculation that is little more than worthless! If I had had Brad Steiger's latest book, I would have saved myself a lot of money and wasted hours of reading and trying to decide which information was bogus or real. This book tells all! And it hits the most important and substantiated information available to the reading public. Buy it! Read it! You will not be disappointed! I got more information from it than I did from the last dozen 'conspiracy' books I have read!

A must for any collection strong in investigative inquiryJun 15, 2006
By Midwest Book Review Plenty of books have been written individually about select secret societies: now here's a handy A-Z reference which covers them all under one cover, providing over five hundred pages reviewing 300 individuals, organizations, and events which have puzzled modern times. From contemporary issues such as satellite snooping to historical background on societies such as the Freemasons, entries provide plenty of coverage and describe major events and secret societies with relevance to today's world. CONSPIRACIES AND SECRET SOCIETIES: THE COMPLETE DOSSIER is a must for any collection strong in investigative inquiry.
