Book is excellent, however the current version available from Amazon for Kindle is missing the exercises from Chapter 3. Amazon is working to resolve the problem with the publisher.

When I have questions about specific concepts or technologies I find the explanations in this book to be much more direct and understandable than those that I find on the internet. Some of the descriptions can a bit long-winded, but that's fine. I just skip them. I am a computer science graduate student, but my undergrad degree was not in computer science, it was in psychology. I feel this is a good book for the technically-minded intermediate level student.

Easy to read for people just starting with networking, but also very technical for those beyond the novice level. The coding samples are a great help and the diagrams and graphs as well.

Bought Computer Networks for my networking class. We are about 1/3 of the way through the semester and this book has some very good stuff. Lots of details about the current networking practices. For the price, it was worth the buy.

this is my first time studying networking. i just finished ch 1 and attempted the exercises. the exercises DO NOT REPRESENT THE CONTENT OF THE CHAPTER. it's like two totally different groups of people wrote the text, and the exercises and never communicated. the text is full of fluff too. my professor is not qualified to teach this class, so i get absolutely no help in this subject. i guess networking will not be my forte. i'm getting a terrible foundation because of this book.
