 Great technical reference and test study guideMar 09, 2012

This was my first foray into exam prep with an E-book. This book did a great job of delivering all the needed information for the exam wrapped in a conversational style with real world content and examples. Many of us have seen test prep books that look like a disparate collection of testable facts that might as well have been written in bullet format. This book is an easy read, and goes from the general to the specific, delivering you to the finish line confidently ready to pass the Security+ exam. With regard to the review critiquing the somewhat clunky Kindle formatting of the book, I choose not to criticize the gift because I didn't like the wrapping. And the price? Incredible value. Honestly I don't see how this is a "Kindle Edition." I hate to leave a bad review but the way it displays on my Kindle Touch isn't ideal for studying. It requires you to have a piece of paper and write down your answers as you go through the test, then after your finished, the next page starts the same test again but only this time with the answers at the bottom of each question with explanations (which are good, I'm not knocking the content). I wish it were displayed like flash cards. One page has a question with possible answers, then when you hit next page, it's the answers and incorrect explanations. This way is ideal for studying and feels more "Kindle Edition." I think right now the way it's displayed is lazy and requires you to either memorize what answer you chose (can be hard sometimes if your on the fence with 2 different choices) or either grab pencil and paper and write down your choice for later review (unless I'm doing something wrong).
Although I would like to note the content of the exams are good. I found them to be helpful but I'm reluctant to study them over and over because of the lack of ease of use on the Kindle.
Ultimately to me, it's not a "Kindle Edition" it's just a test (with good answers & explanations) that is clunky to study with. I'm going to try to find an alternative way to get these answers in a "flash-card" format. I rated it 3 out of 5 stars because although it had good content, the way it's displayed isn't ideal for studying.
