As good as you can get for a dry subjectMar 26, 2006

This is one of the better study aids, but as with all study aids it is boring to read. It may just be me, but I hate to read anything like this, but I have to keep my certs. It is up to date with the latest verion of the test and very informative. It will make a great companion to use along side the bigger complete CCNA test prep books and also to use in the field when you need to remember those odd commands.

Very good reference bookNov 18, 2005
By Charles Dobbs Wish I had a book like this last year when I was attempting to pass my exam(s), it is my goal for next year. I was really surprised by the size of it, being so thin, yet packed with useful information that will make any person just starting (or not) supporting cisco devices wished they had at their disposal for quickly finding the proper sequence when their memory doesn't want to cooperate with them and its much easier than finding the info through Cisco's web site or through the help menu on the device. This will definitely help with a quick tune up just prior to the exam. I've never used flash cards but I would probably say it would be very similar to that.
I posted this info on Certcities.com and one of the guys there asked if it was the same as http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1587131595/002-0029014-1337631?v=glance&n=283155&n=193977&s=books&v=glance and it does appear to be very similar. Had I known about the other book before I would have got it too for my library.
I'd give it a thumbs up for a very good quick reference guide to everything I wanted to know.

I would have loved this book while I was still studying for my CCNA. I grabbed this, because I thought it would be like a command dictionary. It's more of a step-by-step for beginners. I would Cisco made a CCNP portable command guide.

This portable command guide is a must for anyone working with CISCO switches and routers. I used this command guide as part of my study for the CCNA, but have also found this book an excellent referral for everyday work. This guide describes everything from configuring a switch at start up to setting up both standard and extended access lists. Routing protocols are also covered, showing you the actual commands required.
