From the supplier: A major Canadian retail chain succeeded in reducing its losses resulting from theft and other crimes by implementing a loss prevention program. The program relied on basic security principles rather than on modern technology to combat theft committed by the company's own employees. The retailer introduced an employee code of conduct, a security hot line and a strong refund policy as part of its loss prevention strategy. In addition, the program included security awareness training, publicity of arrests, undercover surveillance and the use of dedicated cash registers.
